PEOPLE OFTEN ASK ME WHAT I LIKE TO DO IN MY FREE TIME, and the answer is easy, especially during the warm months: Anything that involves my grandchildren. I am blessed with eight amazing grandkids, including three in Darien—the Stisser Chicks—Ella, Olive and Pippa—and I enjoy every minute I can with them.
We don’t need elaborate vacations or expensive adventures to have fun. Just a little creativity, some energy and an open mind. The best part isn’t where we go—it’s that we’re together. We’re making memories, of course, but even more importantly, we’re enjoying the present and reminding each other not to waste time standing still when we can laugh, explore and share life together. Along the way we have even collected a few “adopted” grandchildren who happily join our adventures.
